1925 Born in Tonneins to Georges MAURIN and Blanche SAINT PAUL
Starts sculpting branches, debris of wood and clay from a very young age.
1940 Discovers medieval and pre-Columbian art
1942 Attends the Beaux Arts School in Toulouse
1943 Joins the Resistance
1944 Immediately after the war, sets up his first sculpting studio and works clay, stone and wood
1945 Sculpts his first monument in memory of the Tonneins resistants.
1946 Joins Monsieur de Latournerie’s studio in Paris
1947 Produces sketches for the Charbonnages de France
1948 First trip to the United States , numerous sacred and pagan works of art.
1950 Marries Janine Duval while on a trip to France . He takes her to America
1951 Works with the Bourdelle son. Meets Duchamp, de Kooning and Yop Nicolas, a master glass-worker from the Netherlands
